Brief biography

George Soros was born in Hungary in 1930 and survived the Nazi occupation. His foundation describes his move to London in 1947, studies at the London School of Economics, move to the United States in 1956 and hedge-fund launch in 1970. His philanthropy began in 1979 and expanded internationally. Today the organization identifies him as founder, Alex Soros as chair and Binaifer Nowrojee as president.
