Coal expansion and AI power demand

The April 8, 2025 coal order promotes leasing, exports and regulatory changes and calls for studying coal power for AI data centers.

The order describes policy priorities. It does not establish that a particular data center received coal power or that an investor received a payment.

Coal holdings and business effects must be examined separately from oil and gas holdings.
