Ballot-stuffing and election cases

DOJ records admitted ballot stuffing in Philadelphia and Kim Taylor’s Iowa jury conviction. The cited records describe consulting payments, election-official bribes, unauthorized signatures and false totals. North Carolina’s 2018 congressional contest and Bridgeport’s 2023 primary resulted in orders for new elections.

Citizenship checks and prosecution records

North Carolina’s 2016 audit identified 41 acknowledged noncitizen voters with lawful immigration status and confirmed citizenship for 34 other flagged people. AP reported that Georgia’s 2024 audit identified 20 noncitizen registrants, nine with past voting. DOJ’s September 2026 Minnesota indictment alleges false citizenship certification in connection with 2024 voting.

North Carolina audit findings

North Carolina’s 2016 audit identified 428 eligible provisional ballots for counting. Later audits reported administrative and counting variances. The March 2026 voter-history audit reported no evidence of manipulated totals within its checks and said county reviews had cleared some of 80 eligibility flags.

Federal election orders and litigation

The March 2026 executive order directs citizenship-list and postal measures. Reuters and AP reported that a September 10 appellate decision maintained an injunction against mail-voting restrictions. The administration sought Supreme Court relief in a separate citizenship-data dispute. The administration described safeguards against ineligible voting; challengers raised authority, privacy and practical-burden objections.

District-map opinions

Article I gives Congress authority to make or alter congressional election regulations. Rucho addresses federal justiciability of partisan-gerrymandering claims. Moore addresses state constitutional review of election rules. In Callais, the majority rejected Louisiana’s racial justification and interpreted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act more narrowly. Kagan’s dissent disputed that interpretation.

Georgia polling-disruption study

Andrade and Stark’s 2025 preprint reported evidence consistent with reduced relative in-person turnout after bomb threats in DeKalb County and a different result in Fulton County.

The $5,000 proposal and legal records

Trump’s September 9 proposal conditions a $5,000 adult-citizen dividend on Republicans retaining both chambers of Congress. The speech says the money should be spent in the United States. The linked legal records contain federal voting-payment provisions, benefit-for-political-activity provisions, the Appropriations Clause and the Supreme Court’s 1982 Brown v. Hartlage opinion.

The Texas Tribune reports that the Texas Supreme Court required the county to use the maps in place for its March primaries for November’s county elections.
